But Thiago, what is a LANDING PAGE? And what does CONVERSION mean? That's a lot of difficult words to understand…
Don't worry, I'll explain! I'll briefly summarize and put into simple terms what a... Landing Page and what does the word mean? Conversion:
Landing Page: It's a landing page that showcases the product or service you want to sell at that moment.
Conversion: In this specific case, it's the term given to the number of sales of that product or service offered in relation to the number of visits you received on your website. Landing Page.
Of course, we're talking about this specific case of a landing page, but your conversion can come from various places within your website. But let's start with the basics and then move on to the tips, okay?
1. Make the sale while avoiding selling.
Do we love shopping? Of course! Do we like salespeople? Not always. Don't try to push the product on the buyer because THAT'S ANNOYING and often makes the person give up on the purchase.
Provide relevant information about what you're trying to sell, its benefits, and focus on your audience's needs. Avoid excessive adjectives and, above all, STAY AWAY FROM JARGON! Let them choose whether or not it's worth buying.
2. Use common vocabulary.
You know that great conversation you have with your friends during Friday Happy Hour? It's good, isn't it? That's exactly the concept you need to bring to your page. Be simple, direct, objective, and if possible, fun!
Avoid using too much technical jargon, as the product or service you're offering may not be aimed at a technical person. Want an example of a fun conversation between a client and a company that generated a lot of positive sharing?
3- Be brief and thorough.
Most people don't like to read when they're on the computer. Don't believe me? Who hasn't installed a program downloaded from the internet and suddenly encountered a strange, annoying toolbar in their browser? That's because we don't read those tiny letters because there are so many of them! It's tiring.
Break your text into small portions, use sentences, and be concise. Dividing it into topics makes reading easier, simpler, and clearer. Oh! Use LARGE fonts! You never know who's accessing your content.
4- Use “50%” instead of “Fifty Percent”
Numbers always grab attention more than text, and they also strengthen and make the message much clearer and more objective. Remember that we don't read the content; we practically scan it and only pay attention to what catches our eye. (Got it?)
5- Highlight the words that carry important information.
Choose the words in your text that you believe are key and of utmost importance to the visitor's purchase decision. Place them in bold, Italic, BIG, another color Or find another way to draw attention because that word is really important.
6. Use simple and clear titles and subtitles.
We reiterate once again: People don't read on the internet. Titles and subtitles are crucial in the process of building your landing page because they determine whether or not the visitor will be interested in continuing to "scan" your content. That's where you have to catch it. So don't waste this space.
7- Use an active voice, call to action, Call to action!
If the intention of your page is to generate a user action, whether it's clicking a button, picking up the phone and calling, or opening an online chat, tell the visitor that they have to do it. For example:
Contact us now!
(XX) XXXX-XXXX / (XX) XXXX-XXXX
Or leave your phone number here _________________ and we'll call you!
8. Link your landing page to paid ads.
It's not impossible, but it's very difficult to get a return without investment, so we recommend that this landing page be included within a paid advertising campaign, either on Google AdWords or Facebook Ads.
Of course, if you've managed to complete all the steps above, it's very likely that your page will have a great return and a good conversion rate. Now, all this work, combined with a sponsored advertising campaign, integrating social networks, and especially excellent personal customer service when the client gets in touch, is a sure path to success!
Well folks, that's it for today. I hope I've helped by sharing my knowledge in digital marketing and that your conversions are sky-high!
Until next time!
